If you’d like to join our group we’d love to hear from you!

Currently our group consists of 20 members and includes ...
 

Koala Carer of 8 years experience, and she specialises in koala care. She is also a fully trained wildlife vet nurse.

Macropod carer of 17 years, also does possums and occasionally birds, has a large acreage which is beneficial to soft release of rehabbing roos and wallabies.

Small mammal carer of 30 plus years, specialising in gliders, echidnas, micro bats. Also cares for antechinus, phascogales, possums and koalas.

Also within our group is a vaccinated bat rescuerer.


We have several members in training for initial wildlife first aid, and then more focussed training depending on their choice of wildlife e.g. birds, possums, macropods etc


We also have designated rescuers and transporters, along with our photographer whose pics very often can diagnose an illness or injury when koala too high to identify problems with the eyes.

We can always use help and find a role that best suits you. 

Membership costs $20 per year.

 

We gather for meetings to discuss koala strategies, plan fundraising and awareness events and how to further protect koalas in the Crows Nest district.

 

Opportunities are also available for volunteers to learn how to rescue koalas, how to transport them and how to rehabilitate and release them.
